Ursula from 13 to 17 weeks old- enjoy!
To return to Ursula's current pictures click on the bear.

"Thanks Becky, Muni and Joshua for the Exersaucer! I'm considering licking this purple monkey."
January 18th., Our friends at daycare found the WMDs (wicked massive diaper)! They were in Ursula's pants. This substance blew through the diaper, the onesie, and her pants. We estimate she is 13 pounds now. Armed with Super Baby Food, we are researching Ursula's next epicurian adventure to be attempted sometime around 5 to 6 months of age. We've been told (and agree) we are crazy fools to make most of her food from scratch, but we're going to give it a shot ... She tried out her new high chair (thanks Mimi and Papa). Really, she was having fun grabbing the spoons ... at first. We try not to torture her for a good photo ... too much.

"I want breastmilk...this wasn't part of the deal."

Experimenting with real objects (obsessively scrubbed of pesticide residue). Plastic is so yesterday.

Bears need to sleep too
January 13th., Sorry there have not been web updates this past week. Dad has been away at the county lockup for disorderly conduct...nah, he was down in Maine painting a mural at the Bates Museum of Art. Apparently, back in New Jersey, Ursula is holding on to her books and flopping them around.

Softbook reading fun

Ginger Bread Woman
January 7th., Wriggly Ursula can now roll front to back and back to side, but not completely front to back. She's talking quite a bit (without saying much), sticking mostly to vowels, with a 'w' here and a 'g' there (listen to Oweuaaawewaaiiuuaw). Her 'funky chicken' puppet is good at getting a giggle out of her but a game of peekaboo is a sure thing.
January 5th., Ursula begins her daycare tomorow. The teachers are wonderful, but we are very sad to lose any second to play with her. There are six other infants and toddlers to play with. She will going just two days a week while Dad is teaching in Delaware.

Dad made up a new holiday, "Surprise Mom and bring Ursula to lunch, Day"

January 2nd., On the last day Mom can enjoy being a work-from-home-mom, Ursula suddenly learns to grab things above her on the play mat and partially roll over with a concentrated look. She also begins to giggle each time we play peak-a-boo over her face.

Come on Ursula, turn the page!

Happy New Year Baby!!
December 31st., Ursula is a year old according to the Chinese calendar of conception being your birthday. Nah, she is 14 weeks old and while reading a book, she was grabbing the thick pages and it 'looked' like she was trying to help turn the pages.

Here's my foot. I like my foot.
December 29th., Ursula ventured to Fairfax, Virginia, to meet her cousins Ava Rose, Annabelle and Zachary Wolsborn. Ursula lit up with smiles and giggles every time Annabelle was in the room.. We hit some awful traffic on the drive along 95 south and thank, thank, thank Gramma Kay for singing every possible nursery rhyme during the 6 hours.

Too early for photos...we need some coffee

Cousin Annabelle spends some quality time with Ursula.

Gramma Kay has such a comfy shoulder ...

Thank you Great Uncle Bob and Aunt Martha for the beautiful hat! We have sold Ursula and the Lousiana Purchase to the French for a lifetime supply of Truffles, Roquefort and Beaujolais Nouveau.
update, December 25th., Merry Christmas! Ursula is so happy for everyone and says hello to all the relatives and friends that she is unable to see today. She is either 13 weeks, 91 days, 2184 hours or 7863000 seconds old. Take your pick for the mathematically challenged. Speaking of challenged, Ursula giggled for Dad, then for Gramma Kay and Mom, but never when everyone is in the room- thus creating a dilemna of who is getting the best first giggle. The last laugh was at Dad after we pulled a package of gizzards out of the eaten turkey.

Comfort time with Gramma Kay

Ursula has graduated and can now be turned around in her Baby-Bjorn.

Ursula likes her new perspective

Whomever sent this doll to us for Christmas- forgot to send a gift receipt. We already got one of these...

"Yo, wassup?"
December 22nd., Ursula is out of her teething pain and enjoying some remarkable neck ability during tummy time. She is squawking a lot more often and also has the hiccups most of the time after a meal. Ursula is anticipating a visit from Gramma Kay on saturday and a drive down to see her cousins Zachary, Annabelle and Ava Rose!

Two by land three by sea

"So this game has alternating black and white squares, pieces that are similar to my pacifier and also has cool noises when you place the pieces on the squares?...tell me more"

Maybe this is what a baby sees?

I am grumpy, teething and not especially happy with this outfit

Favorite new teething tool "Mrs. Asterisk"
December 20th., Phew! Ursula is beginning teething we think. After several crying bouts of 3-4 hours, we finally figured out that she needs a pacifier, finger, hand or anything soft to gnaw on. She kinda rolled over on her own, but she may have just fallen on her side.

"Green then red...I see a pattern"

I love this game!
